The seedy neighborhoods are gone, replaced with trendy bars, restaurants, and other attractions. Historic hotels have been remodeled or replaced with chic, new ones. That’s all changed in the last ten years. Downtown hotels were far from glamorous, and the neighborhood had a seedy reputation.
Fremont Street’s hotels offered inexpensive rooms, cheap buffets, and low table stakes. If you’re on a budget, it’s certainly worth a visit. For years Downtown Las Vegas played second fiddle to the more glamorous Las Vegas Strip.
